This month is a very special month for all of us at Cruise Naples. Captain Harry Julian, Sr. is visiting us all the way from New Zealand! That makes four generations of Julians – right here in Naples, Florida.
With Harry Sr. visiting us from New Zealand, we thought it would be a great time to talk about what brought us here. It’s quite an amazing story…
The Julian family has several lifetimes of experience on the water.
The story begins with Harry Julian Sr., a maritime master, with many years of experience on all types of sea vessels; from boats to barges and ships in New Zealand, USA, Europe and Asian waters. He’s been an authority to several organizations, serving as a president and chairman for several international organizations. His background as a master and owner of large fleet of ships in the past undoubtedly resonates through his son and grandson today.
In the 1960s Harry Sr. sold part of the family’s water transport company to the Dillingham Corporation based out of Hawaii,
starting the American connection. Lance moved there for school, which is where he met his American wife Sharon. In fact, Lance’s son and Harry Sr.’s grandson Harry, also married an American, Libby, which created an immediateconnection the Naples area. This is the path that led the Julians to Naples.
Lance Julian founded Marine Team, in 1994, a company that does professional marine consulting, production and management for commercial projects, movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc. all around the world!
Lance and his son, Harry, have helped to create some of the mostmemorable water scenes around, with films credits including “Titanic” and“Waterworld,” and television credits such as the reality show, “Survivor.” Over the past 18 years, Marine Team International, Inc. has built a solid reputation for professional marine productions throughout the world. Their most recent release was The “Hangover II” (2011), and there are more exciting projects to come!
In 2009, Captains Lance and son Harry Julian founded Cruise Naples, right here in Naples Florida. At that time, Harry had been working with Marine Team for many years, and was looking for a more stable lifestyle for his family, and sunny Southwest Florida was the spot. Given such an extensive family and professional background on the water, Cruise Naples looked to become the perfect venture for the Julians. Now that there is a fourth generation in the Julian family, the maritime interests are sure to continue.
Today, Cruise Naples has an entire fleet of boats, creating memories for Naples residents and visitors. Everyday, more guests enjoy Cruise Naples sightseeing, dolphin watching, sunset, deep-sea fishing and calm bay fishing cruises. It’s sister company also offers fishing charters, boat rentals and wave-runner rentals. The newest to join the fleet is the Kudu II, a fully loaded, 25-foot, Parker center console fishing boat that can reach up to 30 knots!
Cruise Naples isn’t “just” a company. It’s much more special than that. Cruise Naples is part of a family heritage, a culmination of lifetimes of maritime experience!
