Why Do We Want to Help?
For the Julian family, owners of Pure Florida, the cause is a personal one. The Julian’s friend and colleague, Barb Frederick, is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. The Julian’s first met Frederick on the set of the television show “Survivor” where they all worked on various elements of the reality show’s production. After Barb continued to struggle with her illness, the Julian family recruited Frederick to join Pure Florida’s production company, Pure Image Productions.
“As a breast cancer patient, ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ is very near and dear to my heart. I understand the shock of receiving the diagnosis, the pain of treatment and the flood of emotions that it brings,” said Frederick, vice-president of development for Pure Image Productions. “One day I was having an especially rough day at work and Lance Julian encouraged me to take my lunch aboard the M/V Double Sunshine. At that moment, I finally took time to exhale and to enjoy the dolphins, birds and other wildlife from aboard the cruise – a much needed break during a difficult time. I am eternally grateful.”
All proceeds will go to the “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” program at American Cancer Society to finish the fight against breast cancer.
