Pure Florida’s Naples location, in partnership with Kiwanis Club of Greater Collier, will host author, Anna Taylor, for a book signing event on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. to noon at the Tiki Hut at Tin City. Taylor, whose book was inspired by Pure Florida’s cruises, will read “Sophia and Alexia Watch for Dolphins” to passengers during a children’s cruise aboard the M/V Double Sunshine from 10 to 11:30 a.m. As part of the “Kids Ride Free” program, the cruise will be free for children when accompanied by a regular-priced adult ticket of $35.
The book features a charming children’s story about marine life. Taylor was inspired by her grandchildren’s experience on Pure Florida’s sightseeing dolphin cruises and the story is focused on relaying the beauty of nature and wildlife to a young audience. “Sophia and Alexia Watch for Dolphins” will be available for purchase for $19.95 for hardcover and $12.95 for paperback, with 30 percent of sales to benefit children’s projects at the Kiwanis Club of Greater Collier.
“Now that I am retired, my focus is children. Currently, I serve as a literacy volunteer at one of the elementary schools here in Naples. My grandchildren have motivated me to write about things that are of interest to them. They especially loved going out on Double Sunshine to watch for dolphins and other wildlife,” Taylor said. “Hopefully, reading this book entitled “Sophia and Alexia Watch for Dolphins” will encourage other Naples’ families to share a similar outing; thus discovering the secrets that seeing nature from the water surrounding Naples has to offer our young people.”
The M/V Double Sunshine departs from the historic Tin City, located at 1200 Fifth Ave. S. in Naples. To register for the book signing event, or for more information on Pure Florida and its cruises, visit www.PureFL.com or call 239-263-4949.
